My mom had banned me from the cliffs-but I could still go to the beach. i rolled up my jeans and stuck my feet in the ocean. It was better than any of my mom's scrubs and lotions and crap. She always shoved a different scent up in my face when I seemed stressed. The beach was suspiciously quiet. As if I knew someone was lurking behind me just waiting to pounce. I knew I needed to shirk that feeling. I was completely alone here. I picked up a rock lying by my foot and ran it on my skin. It was smooth. As if the world couldn't effect it. I liked that feeling. But, i wasn't a rock. The world could effect me. I looked at my feet and saw some of the water steaming. It was the strangest thing. Oh yeah, the vampire thing I thought. It was insane. I pulled my feet out. That wouldn't be a very good thing to see if someone were to walk by. The feeling of being watched still hovered over me like a rain cloud. I threw the rock as hard as I could and saw it flying across the waves.

He knew i was behind him. i could tell. I darted behind a boulder and watched him intently. "Hey, cutie,' I said under my breath. He was from the Quilete Village-that i could tell. And he was buff. His arms were gorgeous-maybe he could lift a car. But, I sensed something about him. Something really wrong. I darted closer and he turned around and saw a blurr. It was like a game. A really, really fun game. I wanted a Romeo and Juliet moment. I had read that book so many times, but I knew it would never happen. Juliet had not only been beautiful, but she had been human. Yet, I was nothing but a freak. A bloodsucker with skin icy to the touch. The lake ocean would probably freeze if I walked in it. Without him seeing-I managed to get even closer. He didn't move-he didn't say a word. I was intrigued. I turned over on my back and pulled my shorts up. I thought I looked pretty cute. I had my bathing suit beneath my halter and denim shorts. And my shorts had the really cute fray at the bottom. I crawled closer and got ready to make my move. I would just say hello. Then, I let him run away once he touched my hand. And, I still tried to shake the strange feeling I had about him.

I wheeled around and found myself facing...nothing. No one was there. I was still alone on the beach. My breathing started t ogo faster, and I still saw no one. I sensed it, and I felt the werewolf feeling licking at the skin inside of me.
There was an unusual cold coming from somewhere on the beach. I held my arms out and walked where my senses took me. I was getting closer to a rock. I looked at the boulder and saw nothing. I was about to turn around until I noticed a foot.
Before they could even think of running, I grabbed their foot and dangled them in front of me. I was strong. It was like lifting a pillow case. A very...cute pillowcase. A very...cold pillowcase despite the warm weather.
I smiled and set her down carefully. "Hi there,"

"Uh...hi!" was the only thing I could say as he set me down. I wanted to mention that he seemed to have a huge fever, but I refrained from doing so.
I stood up and did my best to brush off. I was completely covered in sand. "So..." I tried to start a converstation. "You live in the Quilete Village?" I asked hesitantly.
I looked at his bulging arm muscles and nearly fainted. He was sooooo hot. I wanted soooo much to just squeeze them. He looked too adorable for words. And his hair. It looked soft.
Twirling my hair around my finger, I looked him straight in the eye. Those big...brown...eyes...wow. I could have sworn I was in love. But, I was a freakin' bloodsucker. I didn't know what love or emotion was.

She was freezing. I took her hand and put it to my face. Yup, still cold. I let it go and finally realized what it was. I decided not to mention it at the moment, but I would.
"Yes, I'm from the Quilete Village," I said. My voice was so much deepr compared to her's. But, her's was smooth, and crisp, and musical.
"And you must live up in Forks," I smiled. She looked really cute. "You wanna get in the water?" I asked. I didn't wait for a response and I lead her closer to the water. I threw my shirt in the sand and waded into the water. I hoped it wouldn't start steaming. That was kind of embarrassing.
"Feels great!"

I slipped out of my denim shorts and tossed the halter aside. I could have sworn his eyes bulged out of his head when he saw my white and pink polka dotted bikini. "I don't even know your name!" I shouted over the waves. "I'm Mikenna!"
I jumped in and felt the chilled water swirl around me. I pushed my hair out of my face and smiled. It felt so great to be in the water again. I hadn't swam in about four years. The La Push people really didn't like me.
"You were right. The water feels great!" I cried. I sank under and found myself right beside him. I smiled and tried to salvage my hair-do.
